The Contemporary Humanitarian Practices Lab

A research and design platform that studies how architecture, philanthropy, and local knowledge shape humanitarian spaces, especially Gulf-funded aid projects across East Africa and the Indian Ocean. We document existing aid architectures, analyze their social and environmental impacts, and co-create more grounded alternatives in collaboration with local communities.
